Creative Canopy Dinner Raises over $41,000 for Local Youth Art Programs

November 25, 2025

The Creative Canopy Dinner & Silent Auction, held on November 8 at the Stilly Valley Center in Arlington, was a resounding success, raising $20,920 to support youth arts programs in rural Skagit and Snohomish counties. Hampton Lumber pledged to match the amount, for a total of $41,840.

Co-hosted by Hampton Lumber and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Snohomish County (BGCSC)—with additional support from Sierra Pacific Industries—the event celebrated creativity, community, and the ties between art, natural resources, and rural life. Guests enjoyed a banquet dinner, live performances by local youth, and a silent auction featuring unique art pieces, experiences, and other items donated by students, community organizations, and businesses, including local logging, trucking, and forestry operations.

Funds raised will directly benefit several schools and organizations dedicated to fostering creativity and opportunity for young people:

“This event was about more than fundraising. It was about celebrating partnerships that strengthen our communities,” said Jessica Espy, Hampton Lumber’s North Cascades Outreach Coordinator. “Thanks to the incredible support from attendees and sponsors, we’re able to enhance art programs for kids in our region.”

“It was a wonderful night partnering with Hampton Lumber to support art in our communities,” said DJ Lockwood of the BGCSC. “Art gives young people a powerful way to explore their creativity and express themselves. We’re excited to see these funds help inspire and fuel the next generation.”

Improving arts access in rural areas is a priority for Hampton Lumber, a fourth-generation family-owned business that operates a sawmill in Darrington and manages around 100,000 acres of timberland in Snohomish, Skagit, and Whatcom counties.  The Creative Canopy event was a testament to the strength of community partnerships—bringing together the arts community, schools, and businesses to support local youth. Hampton Lumber and BGCSC extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended, donated, and helped make this evening a success.
