Hampton Lumber Deepens Community Roots with Donations in Skagit and Snohomish Counties

October 22, 2025

This past summer, Hampton Lumber proudly invested in the vitality of surrounding communities through a series of donations totaling around $75,000. These contributions supported a diverse range of organizations—from youth development and education to music, culture, and civic engagement—each playing a unique role in enriching life in and around Darrington, Washington.

Supporting Opportunities for Youth

Hampton donated over $15,000 to the Boys & Girls Club to support its mission of providing safe, inclusive spaces for youth to grow into caring, responsible citizens. With programs spanning sports, arts, and academic support, the Arlington, WA club serves over 3,500 young people annually across Snohomish County. We were also thrilled to be able support the athletic programs at our local schools, with donations of spirit gear, game-day shirts and promotional items. Our sawmill in Darrington also donated locally grown and manufactured lumber for Concrete High School’s construction class to enhance student experiences in the district. The school is known for its strong community partnerships and unique architecture—its central building spans a public roadway, symbolizing its role as a bridge to opportunity. In addition, our mill was able to award $3,000 in scholarships for two local students pursuing higher education.

Hampton is also joining the local Boys and Girls Club in supporting a Creative Canopy dinner and fundraiser in Arlington on November 8, 2025.  The event aims to celebrate and raise funds for youth arts programs at the Darrington School District, Upper Skagit Library, Sedro-Woolley Central Elementary School, and the Arlington Arts Council.

Celebrating Local Culture and Music

The Darrington mill is a regular contributor to the Darrington Timberbowl Rodeo and the Darrington Fourth of July Celebration, both cherished local celebrations. We were a sponsor of the Darrington Bluegrass Festival again this year. Now in its 48th year, the festival brings nationally recognized bluegrass artists to the scenic Darrington Music Park, fostering community through music and camping. We also supported the Whitehorse Music Guild’s “Rock the Mountain” festival, a three-day celebration of classic rock featuring over 20 bands, workshops, and local vendors. The Guild plays a vital role in connecting musicians with the community and promoting arts-based economic development.

Strengthening Civic and Community Life

This year, we were pleased to be able to support the Darrington Community Center with a donation of $45,000 to complete some critically needed upgrades. Built in 1954, the Darrington Community Center serves as the heart of town activities, hosting everything from weddings and memorial services to Sunday gatherings and emergency shelter operations. Managed by an all-volunteer board, the Center relies on rental income, small donations, and fundraising events to cover operating costs.  Hampton’s support will help the Center complete several high-priority upgrades, improving safety and reliability for the many residents who rely on the space for both every day and emergency use.

We want to thank each of these recipient organizations for the important work they do in local communities, and we look forward to our continued partnership.
